What Dr. Dee Stands For

THE 200TH DISTRICT

Dr. Deshawnda Williams is running on three core pillars that reflect the everyday realities of Northwest Philadelphia families.

Building Wealth Where We Live

The people of the 200th District shouldn't just be getting by; they deserve a shot at real economic opportunity. Dr. Dee will fight in Harrisburg to make sure Northwest Philadelphia families can build real, generational wealth.

Her Priorities:

Advocate for a living wage increase that keeps pace with Philadelphia’s true cost of living. Support small business development and entrepreneurship in undeserved communities. Push for workforce development programs, job training, and career pipeline partnerships with local institutions. Attract and retain economic investment in Mt. Airy, West Oak Lane, and Germantown. Champion home-ownership and affordable housing policies that prevent displacement

Support minority-owned businesses with access to capital, contracts, and technical assistance.

Having spent more than two decades as a clinical social worker, and with a lifelong dedication to mental health advocacy, Dr. Dee knows that public health is fundamentally about community well-being. And our communities, quite simply, deserve better.

Her Priorities:

Expand access to mental health services, especially in undeserved zip codes. Address the gun violence epidemic as the public health crisis:

  • Push for substance use treatment resources and recovery support systems
  • Increase funding for community health clinics and faith-based health programming
  • Advocate for health equity policies that close the gap for Black and Brown communities
  • Support senior care, maternal health, and youth mental wellness initiatives

The people of the 200th District shouldn't just be getting by; they deserve a shot at real economic opportunity. Dr. Dee will fight in Harrisburg to make sure Northwest Philadelphia families can build real, generational wealth.

Her Priorities:

  • Reform systems that disproportionately impact Black and Brown communities
  • Advocate for education equity and quality schools in every neighborhood
  • Fight against homelessness with real housing-first legislative solutions
  • Support criminal justice reform and re-entry programs
  • Amplify the voices of women, seniors, youth, and marginalized residents in state policy
  • Champion voter protection, civic access, and community representation

Rooted in Northwest Philadelphia

The Pennsylvania 200th Legislative District is home to some of Philadelphia’s most vibrant, culturally rich, and historically significant communities. Dr. Dee has lived and worked in these neighborhoods. She knows these streets, these schools, and these families.

Communities Served:

  • West Mt. Airy (19119)
  • West Oak Lane (19138)
  • Parts of Germantown (19144)
  • Parts of Cheltenham/Stenton corridor (19150)

Wards Represented: Ward 9, Ward 10, Ward 21, Ward 22, Ward 50

These neighborhoods are full of working families, faith communities, educators, entrepreneurs, seniors, and young people who deserve a State Representative who shows up not just at election time, but every single day. Dr. Dee is that representative.

The Difference One Seat Can Make

Philadelphia has plenty of politicians. What the 200th District needs is a proven servant leader who is already doing the work.

  • Over 25 years of hands-on service to Philadelphia communities
  • Trained clinician who understands mental health, trauma, and human behavior
  • Faith leader trusted across denominational and cultural lines
  • NAACP leader committed to civil rights and civic accountability
  • Entrepreneur and educator who understands economic empowerment
  • A woman who has overcome, achieved, given back, and will keep going

“I’m not running because it’s my turn. I’m running because our communities cannot afford to wait.”
